WDO / Termite Inspections

What is a WDO / Termite Inspection?

A Wood Destroying Organism (WDO) Termite Inspection is a specific inspection to determine the presence of wood-destroying insects or organisms in a home or building. Home inspectors and home inspection reports cannot discuss or reference any WDO activity in their reports – So requesting a WDO inspection is vital to understanding the condition of your property.

WDO Inspections are required for all VA Loans and often for FHA loans as well.

All our WDO inspections are performed by our State-Licensed WDO Inspectors via 20/20 PI

What Does a WDO / Termite Inspection Include?

A thorough WDO / Termite Inspection in Central Florida takes approximately 60 minutes but ultimately depends on the size of the property. The inspection includes a complete inspection of the interior, exterior, attic, and crawlspace below the home if present.

What Does a WDO / Termite Inspection Look For?

Termites are attracted to light sources such as windows, doors, and light fixtures. Our inspectors pay special attention to these areas to check for swarmers that may have landed or died there. The exterior is also carefully inspected for wood decay fungi, subterranean and drywood termite activity and also conditions conducive to WDO activity such as wood-to-ground contact, planters against homes, trees touching the house, and/or stored lumber near the structure. The attic is also checked for termite activity along with wood decay in the roofing structure due to moisture intrusion.
