Because a mold issue in a home isn’t always visible, a mold issue can exist behind walls, within the HVAC unit/ductwork, or underfloor coverings – a pre-purchase mold air sampling is the best way to determine what is circulating through the breathing zone of a home. If someone within your household is sensitive to poor indoor air quality – this inspection can provide peace of mind for your purchase
What Kind of Testing Is Available?
- Mold Air Quality Inspection – This is an inspection in which your inspector will use a pump that filters air from the breathing zone of the home through a collection device which is subsequently sent to a professional lab for in-depth mold analysis. This identifies Mold Spores not visible to the naked eye.
- Spot-Sampling – This primarily for Visible Mold in attempt to determine the type and toxicity of the mold that is visibly present within a home.
